As soon as we entered the Cabinets Direct store in Livingston, NJ on Rte. 10, Frank Morales greeted us warmly.We... wanted to order a vanity for the guest powder room. I chose a door style, etc. and he pulled up the cabinet on his computer. As we had brought the measurements, it helped him. He suggested a different door, and I really decided it was better. It had cleaner lines.We had previously ordered a vanity for the Master Bath several years ago, we knew the quality of your cabinets.A ew days later, Frank came to our home to check the measurements were accurate, and we signed the contract and paid the deposit.He is very personable and listened to my husbands stories. Shout out to Frank Morales, who accommodated me as a walk-in one afternoon on my way home from work so that I could... order a cabinet to be installed during my bathroom remodel. I didn't know what I was doing but he helped me pick something out that would match the existing vanity. It arrived earlier than I had expected, which was nice. But the real reason why I appreciate Frank is because when we couldn't find anyone willing or able to install the crown molding at the top of the cabinet, Frank stopped by our house after work one night and installed it for us himself! Working with Pam was the best decision we made when we decided to redo our kitchen. She came up with innovative layout... ideas for our very challenging space and was very patient as we took our time making decisions. Once our contractor started demo, we found that we needed to change a few things and Pam helped us rework and reorder a few pieces in the most thoughtful way to minimize additional spend. It's pleasant to work with the cabinet designer. However, the whole process is painful. Long story short - if you... want to wait for 5 months and have no problem to manage the logistic details, go ahead. Today is December 3rd 2021 and I only got partial delivery. I ordered Urban Effects Cabinets and made a full payment in July. The lead time was communicated as 10-12 weeks. The first delivery was made in Oct. The store and the driver told me my order was completed. In November, when my contractor began the installation and found out many cabinets were missing, and one pantry was totally wrong (it was another customer's order, and it came with a damaged corner.) My designer at Cabinet Direct was surprised as no one told her either there were backordered items. She was very kind and contacted Urban Effects manager right away. This was 3 days before Thanksgiving. (yes I had no kitchen for Thanksgiving). After Thanksgiving, Urban Effects arranged a 2nd delivery, but their warehouse told me to wait for 2 weeks for a delivery which would be mid of December. The warehouse is only 5 miles from my home! And that means I would have no kitchen for Christmas as well, because the counter top can't be ordered until all cabinets are installed. So I had to ask my designer to help again. She was very helpful and got me an earlier delivery date for December 4th (tomorrow). She told me all backordered items had been completed except the wrong pantry that will take time to be made, and no one knows when it will be done. This time I wouldn't trust any of them so I requested a packing slip. Cabinet Direct customer service took two days and emailed me the list finally on Dec 3rd, but I found again, one cabinet is missing. It appears the customer service didn't check the list before they made the statement that my order has been completed, because she admitted she didn't know. She asked me to go back to my designer and ask my designer to contact Urban Effects again, while knowing my designer took two days off. Tomorrow will be the 2nd delivery day. I will keep fingers crossed. I doubt I would have a kitchen for Christmas either. None of my friends believed I placed the order in July, and I chose Urban Effects because its plant is in Canada, not in China. So the ocean freight has no impact on it at all. It is just an poorly managed manufacturer. By the way, the quality is disappointing as well. I thought I paid for the maple wood. Only the doors are. The frame and everything else are powered boards with a thin veneer. The wrong pantry has a strong solvent odor so I have to keep the door closed. I still like the style and color, but who knows the durability.read more

I can’t say enough about Pamela Boone, kitchen designer at Cabinets Direct USA in Livingston, NJ. We have a complicated... kitchen and she was incredibly helpful and understanding and made so many drawings for us while we decided between cabinet designs. Once we had our own architect put together drawings and sent them to Pamela, we put down a deposit and someone from Cabinets Direct came and took their own measurements. After working with Pamela a little more, we settled on a cabinet line, color, door front, and design. She has been an incredibly helpful and integral part of our kitchen renovation process.read more

After shopping around, we decided on Cabinets Direct and was happy we did. Frank at the Livingston location was great... to work with. He was patient and helpful with suggestions and when there was a mistake in one of the items, he immediately got it replaced. Also, one of the doors had a crack in it and he immediately contacted mfr and got that replaced. That shows me they stand behind their work and it gives me alot of confidence in using them again. Like many who redo their kitchen, I was unsure of even where to start. I inquired and received numerous quotes from... various contractors and cabinet locations, none of which matched my price range and comfort level. When finally stumbling on Cabinets Direct specifically designer/salesman Frank Morales (Cabinets Direct, Livingston), I felt comfortable and ready to start the project. He was extremely knowledgeable and patient. From start to finish everything was EXCEPTIONAL! And when recommending a contractor, Miro, he was spot on. The partnership and communication between the two of them was extraordinary and ensured the project got done efficiently. To that point Frank even drove hardware to my house while I was out of town to ensure the project didn't get held up (THAT IS ABOVE AND BEYOND)! I will certainly be recommending and using both Frank and Miro in the future. I already have a friend that is beginning a project with them both. We completely gutted an apartment in Verona, NJ last year. We were incredibly fortunate to work with Jim Prentiss as... our designer. Jim designed our kitchen, two bathrooms, and two walls of beautiful cabinets for us. He guided us in choosing styles and colors, and his design was spot on. Not only is Jim very talented and easy to work with, he was extremely easy to communicate with. A floating sink cab broke... and Bryan Lobay, from your Livingston office immediately put me in touch with your customer service. He asked all the right questions and gave me great directions and follow up. We stumbled across Cabinets Direct at the Livingston location by chance, and worked with Lisa during our buying... process. Lisa has been incredibly helpful, patient, communicative, and responsive throughout the months of our project. We've met with her on numerous occasions as we mapped out and revised our kitchen design, and through it all she answered all of our questions, and responded to our concerns by putting us, the clients, first. We've spent hours with her, and Lisa helped us with a problem we had with the countertop manufacturer's inventory shortage, yet she consistently kept a positive attitude which helped reduce our stress levels. As it relates to Cabinets Direct, the company offers a number of different brands -- we decided on UltraCraft -- and the showroom gives good ideas and examples. Prices were far better than we found elsewhere, and we believe the quality is superior to other vendors as well. The turnaround was quick, 5-6 weeks, when 6-7 weeks was promised. Delivery day was seamless, everything arrived as promised, and our kitchen looks great! Can't thank Lisa enough, and we'd suggest you ask for her!read more
