Cabinets Direct USA is a fourth-generation family business founded by Moe Zimmerman in 1935. The company’s humble beginnings consisted of Moe traveling into the Lower East Side of New York to purchase maintenance supplies and resell them door to door to apartment complexes.

From the very beginning, Moe understood that in order to build a sustainable, long term business, he would need to provide unmatched customer service. After numerous requests for appliances from his loyal customers, Moe decided to open his first appliance retail location in East Orange, New Jersey under the name Brick Church Appliance. Moe grew this small ‘mom and pop’ business into an appliance empire, which in its prime grossed over $100 million in yearly sales across 41 retail locations.

After graduating Princeton University with a degree in Economics, David Lubetkin, Moe’s grandson, joined Brick Church Appliance. When the company sold in 1990, David decided to bring Moe’s initial business back to life. David took that small maintenance supply business, and grew it to 7 kitchen and bath retail locations throughout New Jersey & Florida. David’s wife Kathy, daughter Jami, and son Mark, now run the business together, almost 90 years after Moe started his career going door to door in New York City. David paid homage to his late grandfather Moe by naming the two Florida locations Zimmerman Kitchen Design. Cabinets Direct USA & Zimmerman Kitchen Design are now one of the nation’s highest rated multi location kitchen & bath retailers, with a cumulative average rating of over 4.85/5 on Google and Houzz, while closing in on close to 1000 verified reviews from past clients. Moe’s legacy lives on through Cabinets Direct USA and Zimmerman Kitchen Design’s tireless dedication to giving their client’s the absolute best possible experience.
